A non-racist book might have racist people, and many of the figures On this book are racist. May be the book itself always racist? Sure. It has an omniscient narrator, and plenty of long, racist passages which are clearly not from any character's point of view. They come to feel such as the nonfiction interludes in War & Peace and they are racist.T
